To add this to your journal simply put :thumb32714939: into your journal footer. This only exists for the paid accounts, but if you still want to show support you can +fav it or better yet, spread the word that this stamp exists! I just want people to know there is a voice despite what the media puts out there of people that have the same views.

I think a distinction should be made about "Immigration" since people are using it as a blanket term.

I am from a family of immigrants as is every American Citizen, save the Native Americans. I wasn't even born in this country. I hail from Tehran Iran. My mother barely knew English and had to learn the language. My mother taught me the importance of education. Without education, I couldn't live the American dream.

There are a lot of people that would like to come into this country, many have to wait in long lines and wait their turn. Many people have to pay up to $10,000 dollars to get legal documentation. Some of us had to flee from war torn countries, others had to leave for economic reasons or oppression from other countries, after all, as a woman, would I be so able to speak my mind so freely like I can in the United States? Could I make my own choices of well being, love, relationships and how to better my own life?

We had to do this the long way, and the hard way. This made us more appreciative as to what it means to be a citizen. There is a long line of people waiting to become a naturalized citizen of the United States. They respect the fact that this is a long and tedious process. Many other countries have harder immigration laws than the United States, yet many of them want to voice their opinion in our policies because they know the value of being an American Citizen.

We have about the same rights with the exception of becoming President of the United States. We can still hold other branches in office, fight for our country and vote to make changes.

I decided to make this stamp because I want people to understand what it means to be a legal immigrant versus an illegal one. I want people to be proud of the process they went through or their parents, grand parents ...ancestors to become a legal citizen. Doing this the legal way should be appreciated.

I ask that every deviant who believes in LEGAL immigration to use this stamp, regardless of the country they hail from. This isn't just about becoming a legal immigrant in the United States, but respecting the process of doing this the legal way world wide.

Thank you.
