This was a collab I actually did with a while back. She had given me a postcard of Ringo from Air Gear and I reworked it.
I know she had done a coloring of it a while back but I'm posting my version.
I actually was painting this very picture during the So-Cal Devmeet arranged by on my laptop being a nerd while others went ice skating.
I should post up about how that meet went, because I've become such a hermit now I rarely socialize due to me trying to study and get better at arting.
ohemgee, gurl! Your coloring skills have gotten a lot more beefed up since the stuff Ive seen even 6 months ago. And you did this while you were just at a skating rink, eh?
Yeah, I was inspired by Henry Yan's stuff and Anthony Ryder. [link] is Yan's site, I don't remember Anthony Ryder, but you'll find it through google. I have both of their books. That and reading about "the rule of tipped cylinders" by Clem Robins helped too (note me for that one).
I just use a modded watercolor brush in Painter, I just set the Digital watercolor to circular and method cover and use some other brushes but my main are the scratchboard for flats and the digital watercolor for gradients.
I also looked at Gottfried Bammes Artist's guide to anatomy. Best book for understanding planes of the figure for massing.
Ok, nuff rambling. Thanks Heidi

Excellent work on the coloring, and you didn't bolw out the background. I like it! . The highlights on the hair are alittle bright though.
(I only noticed because I have the same damn. problem.)
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
